It is still most likely that the Jazz will close out the series tonight at home but if we get the Rockets, they will be at Staples next Tuesday for the first time since the first game of the season. Look how far the Lakers have come since then. Kobe got some early boos in that opening game for the off season trade comments, Bynum was just a bench role player, Lamar was still recovering from injury, Sasha was a DNP Coaches Decision, Gasol was suiting up for the Grizz. I remember watching that opening night game feeling relieved that Kobe was still on our team after a very nervous preseason. I felt we would probably get a 7 or 8 seed and suffer another 1st round playoff exit. Fast forward 6 months and look at us now despite some really tough lingering injuries to key players. I just wanted to write this in hopes Laker fans will step back and appreciate how far we have come in 6 months. Enjoy the playoffs! GO LAKERS!

If we get the Rockets, God bless. We'll cause so many matchup problems! If Battier guards Kobe, fine with me. Lamar can go off for 30 and 10 a game. Scola isn't a great defender and he can't guard Pau. Mutumbo? He's older than Mccain! We have a definite shot at beating Houston in 4 or 5.

Don't underestimate the effectiveness of great team defense in the playoffs which is what the Rockets play. Their games are boring but effective. They are holding the Jazz, a team that averaged 106.2 PPG in the regular season to 85 PPG. That is scary good defense. If they had just a little more offensive firepower, they would be a championship caliber team. Either one is a tough round for us but I think I would prefer the Jazz.

Derek Fisher helped lead the Jazz to the west finals that year. Fish is back where he started, and will now lead us to the WCF.

OC_Showtime, I'm glad you said that about Houston because you're right on the money with it. I personally feel Houston is a tougher matchup for us more than Utah is. The reason I say that is the energy dissipation by Kobe while guarding a great offensive player in Tracy and going a great defensive player in Battier.
