It'll be tough, but I know we'll pull it out...winning the first two games at home is going to be VERY important, especially since Utah hasn't really played all that well on the road this season...Let's do this Lakers!

    1. It is about time. I miss watching the Lakers.
    2. Lakers in 6 maybe 5 if they get lucky.
    3. It will be a tough and physical series and the key will be keeping Deron Williams under control. He opens the offense for all of their role players like Okur, AK-47, Korver and the scrubs on their team.

Bring it on! I think the Jazz are a tougher opponent for the Lakers but not a better team. The Lakers will be ready for them and will not take them lightly. I like the fact that the Jazz are tougher. It will keep the Lakers from becoming complacent. sunday will be a good day.

With homecourt advantage, I'm calling a sweep right now!
You heard it hear first! 4 games sweep.
At worse, we'll lose game 3 and finish up the last 2, but that's just being fair.
    4 GAME SWEEP!!!!

I will go out on a limb and say that we will sweep the Jazz, or win 4-1.

Well, this will be a tough series for me. Utah is a physical, well-balanced team and they know how to play team defense, and especially rebound under the offensive basket. This will not be a short series for me, and if we come out victorious we will have to earn it!

A caveat. There is always a two-edged aspect to having as much time off as the Lakers have had. Yes, we want it to rest and heal, but, and this is a big but, I have seen many times Game 1 of a series like this, with a supposedly tired opponent, that the supposedly fresher team (the Lakers) just come out totally flat after so much down time. It is up to Phil Jackson and to Kobe and the other more experienced players to get the rest of our younger players with the nose to the grindwheel and put a little fear of losing into them!

So, until I see how the Lakers play the first two home games - I will not predict diddly squat!

i dont think its gonna be as tough as people are predicting it to be. I mean utah pretty much won against houston because of injuries mainly rafer alston. In the games rafer played houston seemed like they were evenly matched with utah. In the 3 games rafer played well.

    G MIN FGM-A FG% 3PM-A 3P% FTM-A FT% OFF DEF TOT STL BLK TO PF AST PTS
    Totals 3 37.0 19-41 46.341 11-23 .478 0-0 .000 0.3 1.3 1.7 1.33 .00 1.33 2.00 5.3 16.3

If he had played the whole series houston coulda advanced. Lakers in 4.

I agree with you. I will say it again, the only team that can beat the Lakers is the Lakers. the only scary thing about UTAH is they know how to exploit you if you come out unfocused. Once Alston went down tonight, Houston got unfocused for a moment and UTAH saw the chance to blow them out.

But the Lakers are SUper focused right now. Utah may be more physical, but we are WAY bigger than them. Not to mention more talented.
Take all of that plus they are clicking as a team.

Williams does not scare me. He is very good, but a point guard can't make up for height, length, and scoring. I really think we will frustrate Utah more than the Nuggets.

One thing to remember about the Lakers is their poise. They know teams go on runs, but they also know they come down. Kobe doesn't get rattled and niether do his boys!

the last element on our side is Kobe's MVP award. It should award him a few more calls, which would mean he will finally get the same calls as everyone else instead of less.

Lakers can sweep, but I'll say 5! the sun shines on a dogs a** every once in a while:)

Kobe won't let us down. The Jazz will be tired from a long hard-fought series with the Rockets, while we'll be fresh and ready to dominate. Lakers in 5 or 6. Who's going to guard Okur though?

Okur. A very dirty player, and a guy who will take one for the team if it means injuring one of our important (or most important) players so that they can win by default. This is a guy with the morals of Bruce Bowen, or worse - so watch out for him when any of our players leaves his feet under the basket and is easy prey.
