| He threw the elbow and hit Sash in the face when Melo hit that 3. It was intentional! |

| I saw that. I can't believe he's not going to be suspended. Oh well, they can only suspend him for a game and he only has one left in his season so what's the point right?? Just fine him! |

Agreed. But, Lakers should still send a videotape to the League office.......... |

Definately, but I don't think anything will come of it, and that's if they even bother re-watching it. |

DENVER - APRIL 26: Sasha Vujacic #18 of the Los Angeles Lakers hits the court after being Eduardo Najera #21 of the Denver Nuggets and Najera's reaction earned him a technical foul in Game Three of the Western Conference Quarterfinals during the 2008 NBA Playoffs at the Pepsi Center on April 26, 2008 in Denver, Colorado. The Lakers defeated the Nuggets 102-84 to take a 3-0 series lead. Najera looks like he's about to shoot Sasha in that pic.
If that isn't evidence enough then I don't know how this thing works. Must be anti-Laker policy. |

| He needs to be suspended. I want him suspended. He hit my guy in the face. I hope the Lakers make an attempt to do something about it. |

These are Eduardo's comments on hitting Sasha.
"I did hit him, but he knows what he was doing," he said.
"He was holding me, grabbing my arm. They are trying to say I was the dirty one, but at the same time, he was being pretty dirty himself. When I hit him, he flopped more than I actually hit him and, being a little guy, he stayed on the ground and all that stuff and that's why they called the flagrant foul.Nobody likes that. He's trying to play that fake type of defense when he grabs and holds and then when you retaliate, he flops. That shows his game, but he got the call." |

Oh they will suspend him alright...in the first game of the pre-season.
They don't call him David Stern for nothing... |

That was clearly an elbow that he threw in Sasha's face...totally uncalled for and flat out pathetic.
After the game, my dad and I were talking about how dirty these McNuggets were playing, especially in game 3. Taking out their frustrations by hitting and almost injuring our players because they have played horrible in this series is just sad. Suck it up like real men and play ball like real men by trying to win the game and not trying to hurt others...
There were so many plays, like Najera's elbow on Sasha, Nene almost ripping off LO's arm, Fisher taking a swinging arm in the face, Smith taking Luke's feet out form under him in mid-air as he got a layup, K-Mart grabbing Kobe on the arm and almost throwing him to the ground, etc.
Good thing Machine18 posted Najera's comments about Sasha, these Nuggets apparently don't like playoff basketball because all they do is complain about rough, tough play...
Najera must be kidding though. OK, you say that he's simply just holding/grabbing your arm, and that gives you the right to swing an elbow backwards into his face? If you don't like it, go find another job that is contact-free. Najera is PATHETIC...go play elsewhere out of the NBA with Anthony Carter. |

| As far as I know videotapes of all basketball games are reviewed by the NBA front office. The Coach can make a stink out of it, but this is usually just to call attention to it and make sure that they do give a good long look at the tape. The individual Clubs themselves have no need to gather videotape (unless they have access to different angles of the incident that the League does not have). |

Najera is a nobody, he won't get suspended!
They are just making examples out of all the Star players!!
You almost never hear that the Kwames, Jones or Pachulias of this league get suspended! Why? Because no one cares if they do! They can't make a real difference in a game anyway! |

I doubt that he will get suspended, but it was a foolish play. If I were the office, I would send a tape but we don't need to. It's not like he's a star player |

| Remember last year, Kobe being suspended twice for inadvertent elbow contact? Najera easily deserves an increase to flagrant 2 and a game suspension for throwing that elbow into Sasha. In fact, the Nuggest have so many flagrant technicals against the Lakers the league needs to send them a message. They are trying to be physical, and it's not working. |

Najera's response from Rocky Mountain News
Quote:
``First of all, he’s a flopper,’’ Najera said.
``He’s the type of guy that flops all the time. Nobody likes that,’’ Najera said. ``He’s trying to play that fake kind of defense where he grabs and holds and then when you retaliate, he flops. That’s just his game.’’

| OMG Najera is trying to say "Yeah I hit him but he was playing good defense and doing a bit of flopping. I choose to hit him to the ground." |
