Yawn.. What a year it's been. We've accomplished so many things people didn't expect us to do. Clinch a playoff seed. Win 50 games. Kobe stayed in L.A. Bynum broke out. Mitch became a hero. Where do I start from? We simply did everything that people didn't expect us to do.
Record.
Our record shows just how much we've improved. Going from 42 wins to 57 , we've done a great job. We took care of the easy teams and did great against playoff teams. Also, we did great closing out games. Currently, we are 2nd in the Western Conference. That means a lot because this is the wild, wild West!
Kobe.
Wow. There's a lot to say. He was on the verge of leaving L.A and darkening and saddening this city, and his infamous video was posted everywhere, with Kobe saying "Ship his @ss out!" to Bynum. He improved vastly from last year. This year hasn't been so difficult because he actually has guys to pass to that know how to shoot and/or dunk. His overall team effort is just tremendous. Kobe Bryant will be your MVP. Mark my words. He went from a hated player of his own fans to a MVP from the nation. This is his year.
Youth
The Lakers have one of the youngest teams in the L. Farmar and Bynum improved so much from last year, it seems like they're 8 year veterans when they're only 21 and 20! Guys like Sasha and Vladamir improved and this helped the team as a whole.
Fisher
Fisher has a lot to do with Kobe staying. Fisher and Kobe are close friends so part of backing off his trade demand was because of the presence of a great friend like Fish. He brings veteran and leadership to the team and has helped Farmar be a better player.
Mitch
Your executive of the year. He traded Cook, a one dimensional mediocre bench player, along with Evans, for Trevor Ariza. Some thought this was a dumb deal but we got to see how great Ariza is! The next trade he did was probably the greatest steal of all time. He gave up Kwame and a couple of other players for Pau Gasol! This was a steal and a + for us. Kobe and Gasol made a dangerous tandem. The great thing about this is that this led to a domino effect for teams, and brought many stars and players to the West (ie. Kidd, Shaq) Great work Mitch! We Laker fans are sorry about bashing you and calling you Cupcake.
These are the dog days of Spring (although it just started lol). It's getting close to the end of the school year for must of us and people are getting ready for the summer. But I'm getting ready for the playoffs of the 07-08 season. It'll be a great one, guaranteed. Kobe will earn his MVP and will explode in the playoffs. The Lakers will win the Finals. I'm out. |

| I'm so pumped up for the playoffs! The Lakers ended the season with a lot of momentum by winning 8 of 9 games. |
