THE SUPERSTAR Asked what his MVP ballot would look like, Bryant says, "I'm not even thinking about that." But when somebody mentions that the Cleveland Cavaliers' James is a favorite because he's a near one-man team, Bryant, who was averaging 28.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists through Sunday, snaps, "Put me in the East and see what happens."

| Maybe now people will realize that being in the east is easier...I think some people feel that the east is just as strong as the west and LeBron is just on a different level than anybody else has ever been...there was a post asking what I like most about Kobe...what I like most is Kobe not being afraid to hurt his image by speaking his mind and telling the truth...there aren't too many players in sports nowadays that will say what they truly believe, but there is atleast one, Kobe Bryant... |

| I believe Kobe when he says the MVP doesn't mean anything to him and that it's all about rings. But I'm sure Kobe's blood boils when disrespectful reporters have the nerve to say ignorant comments. Didn't Kobe lose MVP awards for being a one-man team? So why should Lebron be mentioned for MVP? His team might not even win 50 games which was a must in the past. Too bad the defintion of MVP will change once again. I love Kobe's comment though. I also don't think it's a shot at Lebron. But let's not be surprised if the media runs with it. |

ya i dont think it was a shot at Lebron. Kobe simply implied that if he were in the east he would be tearing it up! which i think we all know we could be. I say could because he can tear it up anywhere and anytime...he just prefers to win over personal accomplishments. But if it takes 81 to win...he doesnt mind doing it. |

| I like it when Kobe relaxes and says what's on his mind, instead of trying to be a politically correct wimp. |

| LeBron has a 4th ranked team in the East! I know his supporting cast isn't much, but still. CP3,Kobe,KG are the only legitmate contenders. |

| lebron is slippin away from the mvp contest, he already has 31 losses, and he needs to go 10-1 to get 50 wins, so its kobe and cp3, and cp3 beat boston and has 47-21 record, so we need to new orleans to LOSEEE |

| I think Kobe should finish his career with at least 1 MVP award. Now is the best time to award him with it. |

Sorry KB, but I'd have to totally disagree with you when it comes to Kobe speaking his mind. This is actually one of the rare moments in his entire career that he's actually decided to be real for once and call it how it was. Every question he's ever been asked he goes out of his way to be politically correct. I for one get tired of that. I'm glad he finally spoke the real about Lebron though. |

I agree with you, of course being number one is the main emphasis. But I think if we're healthy the next few seasons, theirs no reason he can't get a couple in a row. |

| Was it me, or did Kobe do some amazing things last night? I know he would normally have taken a game over like this and the Lakers would have won, but still I just don't see anyone else doing what he is doing. Just amazing! |

| I love the Lakers and am a Kobe fan. This being said, i believe that certain events in Kobe's past have hindered his ability to get the MVP. While his quest is for championships, i am sure deep down he would like an MVP award...simply put, he has deserved it for quite a while now. These same events (trial, shaq fueds, shutting it down in Sacramento a few years ago, etc) have also matured him. When you watch him plan now, vs a few years ago, you will see an extremely smart veteran LEADER now...who takes the time to mentor players and make them better while playing with them on the floor...and at the same time, having his team at the top of his conference. I think that Kobe has a ton of respect and admiration for James too. But i agree with Kobe, if he were on the east, he would be putting up amazing numbers. He is now a LEADER, not just a superstar. In the end, i believe this is Kobe's year, with KG the runnerup. |
