"#3. Lakers - still over-hyped and have been beating mainly very weak teams and gave up way over a 100 to Suns - which no other good team did in last three games. Neither the soft Gasol or the often out of position Bynum can stop the top teams interior scorers when it counts. A great team like the Spurs with 4 players capable of at least slowing down Kobe (Bowen, Udoka top two + Manu and Finley) can handle the LAL with impunity (at least this year) and don't forget Spurs add Tiago Splitter next year (better defensive big than Gasol)."
Is this guy serious??

Window of Opportunity is Closed
From Suns Board
I have beena huge Suns' fan for 20 years now, and I have always been optimistic. I see it's now time to be realistic. Had they acquired Shaq earlier in the season or before the season started, I think we may have a chance. However, as late as we got him and as tight as the playoff race is, I think it's a distinct possibility we may miss the playoffs altogether. We had some great runs in the Steve Nash era, but this system doesn't work without Shawn Marion. Although, we are stronger and tougher with Shaq, we have lost speed, athleticism, and versatility.
There is no clear cut favorite for the NBA crown this year. In my opinion, one of 8 teams has a legit shot at the crown, with the Suns as one of those teams. I don't feel they will win the title, but it is arguable at least that they have a legit shot. I do feel the Lakers are the best team right now and they are who I would bet money on. It is a shame that my least favorite team is now better than my favorite team, but Iam honest enough to admit it. I am sorry to say it, but I think L.A. is going to win it all. The Lakers are remarkable in that they don't stay down for long. I mean look at teams like the Hawks. Bad for years and years. The Lakers have a few down years, then they are right back up to one of the elite teams. It makes me sick. I hate those guys, but unfortunately, they are that damn good. I'll keep pullin for the Suns, but it don't look good, planet orange.

| I love what we have been doing but our defense is still questionable at times. Having said that I believe that our teams defensive mentality is built arourd containing, more than trying to shut down the other team. We dont need to play killer defense because our offense really dictates the game and when Kobe & company have the triangle running on all cylinders no one can stop them. Look at it this way, we can play the half court better than anyone and we can run with the leagues best also. |

| Well, I know this...we have the best point differential in the entire Western conference...better than the Spurs...so we are doing something right! You don't have to hold teams under 100pts...that is the Spurs game. What matters more is that you can out score them. |

He is a Spurs fan. What do you expect him to say? It is a fact, we are weak defensively without Bynum or Ariza but we can get away with it in the regular season because we have such a potent offense. Let them dream that Duncan would be effective in a 7 game series against our twin towers. We will see. I like our chances. |

| He is an optimistic Spurs fan. We (Lakers fans) often have bigger dreams and see our guys as better then anyone else even to the point of being silly. That is what this is. A die-hard Spurs fan that really believes that an ailing, slowed down Parker, a tired looking but still very good Duncan and basically Ginobli can defeat a Lakers team with Pau, Kobe, Lamar and Bynum. Well..good luck Spurs, but it isn't looking good. |

this is totaly wrong... but who can expect it when he is a Spurs fan...
the only thing that im really worried about is... Bowen slowing Kobe down... and no not via the actual game... Im pretty sure he would try to further injure Kobe... Bowen is the nastiest and dirtiest of NBA players... |

he wasnt smelling weed, he was smoking it. those 4 players can individually guard kobe, they can quad-team on kobe, that might work |

Nice to see a sensible fan not jumping all over shaq's nuts and hoping he will bring them a trophy (which he won't) They don't seem to realize the impact of losing marion everyone is just drooling over shaq. |
