With this horrible economy. I wish Trev would take 1 year deals from the Lakers like Rick Fox did in the past.

I guarantee that Artest and Kobe will openly fight this year. Artest will defy a Kobe command and start his streetball thing, Odom will jump up to assure Artest keeps his arms at his side, Artest will be suspended for three games by the Lakers, he'll apologize and say that he's still working on his youthful issues and a few months later it will happen again. With age he has redirected his testosterone by the very qualities that appeal to the fans are the same qualities that guarantee that this dog will bote the owner on occasion., He's a pitbull which reminds me that he was fined for not feeding his animals a few years back... Not being negative here, but I'd bet money on it!

Most Laker fans do not realize how much control Kobe wields. They see Lamar as slacking off, but I have always noticed that he excels when Kobe is not on the floor. Kobe holds the ball just too long causing doubt in his opponents what he's going to do next. This affects his teammates the same way and asserts his control over the pace and flow of the game. BY taking the game to his pace, he then scores nearly at will! That is the control tactic that Artest will challenge. It's my speculation that Artest and Lamar coming off the bench might be ideal! Start Luke to inspire the formalities to start the game and bring in the guns a few moments later...

Do you happen to know tomorrows lottery numbers too?

As a mattter of fact I do but I have to spell it out numerologically: URANARSE

I'll bet money that doesn't happen. ..... I have never heard of any problems on the court for this guy..

Are you kidding me? He was suspended for half a season for running up in the crowd and attacking a fan.... An intense guy like Artest does not think, he reacts as a trained soldier does and he gets overwhelmed by his feelings and is neglectful in other areas of his life as a result.

I want the best for all and I believe strongly that all people learn from their mistakes but I am merely looking that the man and who he is now. He describes how he has to calm himself down in recent interviews.

Who amongst you think he would not have made contact after the hard foul if it wasn't Kobe? At the last second his red burning eyes realized he wanted to jump ship and he'd better not piss off the captain. He would have chest butted anyone else and got tossed from the game at least!

I will create a thread entitled, "I TOLD YOU SO" when it happens... They are two bulls in a bullpen. Their natures will conflict even if only in the spirit of intense teamwork.

Every time I see the BREAKING NEWS part I get all excited, then I read the rest and I die a little inside. I keep thinking there's a new FA signing or something.

You bringing up the 04-05 season? Artest had changed since then and we got Kobe, Lamar and Phil to control the guy if he goes off I do not believe Artest will go off because he been wanting to be a laker and he want a ring bad why would he want to screw that up?

I agree that if it weren't Kobe who had elbowed Artest in the "chest" the situation might have been a little bit different. But on the other hand, who else in the NBA is brave enough to do what Kobe did to Artest?

On Artest being a Laker, I believe everything will work out just fine. Yes, there will probably be a little drama, but come on, these are the Lakers and that's expected.

And I hope you don't think that two superstars, or in this case a mega-star and a star, can't win a championship together or be successful if they have problems with eachother. Just think about Kobe and Shaq, the winners of three straight championships.

The only thing that can stop this team is injuries.

Wait, you know what, I feel better about Artest joining the Lakers now. You said,

Artest doesn't want to piss off the "captain". Artest just wants to win, that's why he wanted to "jump ship".
